I found a new job. That makes the total time in limbo about twenty-four days, but since two weeks of that was killed by Christmas, I think I did okay. I also got another of the layoff victims a job at the same place with me.
Grand total for being laid off is: no loss of income, several thousand dollars in bonuses and pay outs, and several percentage points raise. Oh, and a likely bidding war come next week, the starting of which causes one to write the most interesting emails.
"Hey, just wanted to drop you a line that someone had made me an offer. If you still want me, you'll have to beat that offer."
That's surprisingly hard to write in any sort of businesslike way.
I'm so tired that I can't sleep. No justice.
