I was listening to a buddy of mine ramble on and on and on and on and on about what a terrible day he had yesterday. How he didn't make it to court in time, and his bank took his money, and he couldn't pay his car payment, and they were gonna repossess his car, and if his licence gets suspended he'll lose his job. He musta done this for like half an hour, maybe more. I just did the therapist thing, repeating back to him what he was already saying, just in a different manner. He got to vent, and I really didn't even have to say anything.
For as long as I have known this guy, he has always seemed to think that the world is out to get him. I tried telling him on more than one occasion that most, if not all of his problems are brought on by himself. He lacks disipline and anytime things get even remotely bad, he crumbles like a house of cards. He never stands up for himself and he's been letting people walk all over him for years. Yea, he had a fucked up childhood, but that shouldn't be reason he lets his adulthood be fucked up.
He did however make a good point, which I highly doubt he will follow through with. His major weakness is waiting. Always has been. He's always had a "Fuck it, forget it," attitude, which has got him nothing but trouble. He said he needs to act more. He's right, but he just can't keep himself motivated to do it. At the first sign of trouble he will give up. I've tried to motivate him, by being supportive, by being an asshole, but nothing seems to work. It's as though he wants to fail. And I'm debating whether or not it's worth trying to help him.

I know people like that... they make me so sad... not for them but just bummed to talk to them in general!
I hope I can do it... I had a dream that I burned myself on the fryer or some chemicals last night... so today I was extra cautious when passing by them.
...come join the "crew" I don't know why they have to be special and call their workers crew... but oh well... it is money, even though training is cheezy and I feel like the oldest most educated person there... rant over
