okay so I figured I would post my progress since people seem to like my drawing:

you already saw this one! first sketch.

this is getting the lines down and doing some shading!

first round of coloring

adding in some details

then adding mist and bird to show it's size...
this is where I am at now. I think I want to add a person or a broken ship under him to further emphasize his scale. Does anyone have suggestions or a critique of it?
