hahahaha, great! @1akbrian it was originally used by the tribes but then it turned into a sacred plant for rituals in alternative religions such as Santo Daime, wich is very popular among hippies and naturalists. Its use is legal as long as you take it during the sacred reunions and stuff. It became very polemic when a guy used it, and during a psychedelic trip, killed a cartoonist for unknown reasons. It was on television during a long time in Brazil, but still, it's legal and it was called an isolated case. Basically the same as mescalina from peyote.

@luri , que óptimo! posso falar português contigo! eu sei do santo daime, mas ainda sei melhor do uso que se faz da ayahuasca no peru. nunca a usei, mas tenho uma amiga que estuda xamanismo e vai, de vez em quando, ao peru e fala-me da planta. e tem também o terence mckenna, que eu adoro e que é uma referência enorme para mim (embora não no sentido das drogas hahaha)
