i am a monkey
i climb the trees
i am a monkey
but you can't see me
uh
(to the tune of Tequila!)
doing the peewee herman dance
you know i love the hippies, some have even called me one. i live in hippy mecca but use to live in the bible belt of texas. i feel all the love and joy they throw out but sometimes i just wanna say quit preachin' to the choir y'all. i mean how hard is it to have a succsessful peace party or get progressive laws passed in hippy heaven. if you really want to make a change be like the army and go station factions of yourselves all over the country. it's really easy to feel high on your horse with your progressive viewpoints here in northern cali but try going to the south or midwest where most people have never heard the term political prosioner or urban growth boundry or have no localy owned bussinesses to support. i feel really lucky to be where i am but alot of people don't understand what a bubble this is compared to the rest of the country. all and all though i too am a hypocrtite, i don't think i could bare going back to the south to live just to try to change some bull headed conservetive minds.

i hear you! it's a struggle to be outside the bubble, but worthwhile, definitely. i was reading your post to veganjihad and i'm totally fascinated by your story of living in a house on stilts. you are a gifted woman, that's for sure. we're lucky to have you here on sg!

I'm with taswell, enjoy. I'm a displaced Tennesseen in LA(which has it's own kind of bubble). I met plenty of know-nothings back home, but at least it had trees. And, oh do I miss thunderstorms! Be happy you know how good you have it.
