I got the chance to look at Jupiter and Saturn through my telescope last night. Holy Moly!

I can confirm, empirically, that Saturn has rings and Jupiter has red stripes and at least three moons.

I know Galileo and countless others have beaten me to the proverbial punch. But it does feel good to see these things with my own eyes.

So awesome! Thanks for sharing! I took Astronomy 201 at university. I have never lost my fascination with the subject. My first novel touches on it multiple times, and, in fact, occurs partially on Mars. I need to finish rewriting that thing! My second novel occurs partly at a base on the Moon! It’s time I looked into getting that one published, just as I’m doing with my first horror novel. 💗🤗💋

So glad you got a real vacation, @notsurewhat1. 🎉 I’m not sure why I recognized them so easily, since I haven’t seen them in years, but I’m pretty darn sure those are Red-winged blackbirds. The females are brown and less interesting looking, but the males are especially beautiful to see. 🖤❤️

Red pistachios

Does anyone remember red pistachios? They were pretty popular when I was a kid. The local grocery store always had both red and regular pistachios, but now you never see them.

I think they peaked in that scene in The Naked Gun movie. Maybe watching Leslie Nielsen and George Kennedy all red-lipped was enough to turn people off forever.

I remember them, too, @notsurewhat1. They were an expensive snack then as now. I think the issue was the red dye - at a certain point in the 1970”s red dye number 2 was determined to be a carcinogen. Pistachios are just as good without being red - and Stephen Colbert makes a great spokesperson for them. 😁

My mom gave it to me about 15 years ago. I've kept it but never gave it enough thought. I've never been one for this kind of thinking, but maybe it's time.

I gather it is a time period during which photo sets are up for review by members of the site. But how does it work and what is the significance of it? Is there a FAQ page that explains it or some other reaource where I can find out? It is mentioned quite frequently in people's posts and I'd like to understand how it works....

According to FAQ: Member Review is the area of the site where all sets on SuicideGirls are posted. All of the sets on SG go through the MR process. When your set is approved for Member Review, it will not be posted right away. We space out the sets so that each set gets equal time and attention on the front page of the site and so that 50 sets aren't posted at once.
