Got me a movie recommendation for everyone.
King of California
I found this movie to be pure joy. Funny in a dark, subtle manner but still uplifting with a nice touch of ambiguity and bleakness. It has a definite, and strong, message beyond the basic story but it manages to not shove it down your throat. Beyond the good story you have some really nice cinematography and a great performance by Michael Douglas; I really enjoyed him in this film. It is always nice to see an actor accept the fact that they are aging and pick roles that play to their age plus when you add the costuming they came up with form him in this film he steals the show as the crazy dad.
Quick review without giving to much away:
Young girl making it on her own while her dad is on the loony bin has her life turned upside down after her super smart but equally nutty dad is released and leads her on a quest for long lost treasure. A quest that leads them to a Costco; hilarity, my kind of hilarity, ensues. Lessons are learned and no on is truly happy.
Seriously, go rent it. Now.
Well, why are you still here?

I really liked Michael Douglas in Wonder Boys, and he normally annoys me, but he's good at playing crazy guys...so I'll give it a shot.
We're all sucked in to Sopranos right now, so our movie-viewing has been interrupted. Per your recommendation, that will be first on my list after we're done with the mobster drama.
Will you be at Trivial Pursuit night?
