Man, what a day... 12 and half hours at work and I feel like I got nothing accomplished.
Sure I DID a ton of stuff and was really productive but we have so much work backed up that it seems like a dent was not even made! On the upside the day went quick as hell... Around 3:00 or so I started to realize it was well past lunch time, but I felt like I had been at work for only a short time.
As rough as days like this can be I do really enjoy them. I like the feeling I get when I run like that all day long, It makes me feel good to really knuckle down and get shit done. The icing on the cake was that the last 2 days I have gotten hella praise form higher up in the company... It's nice to work somewhere that you hear and know you and your effort are appreciated.
On a weird note, my dad starts work for us tomorrow...He is kind of working under me. My dad is a great mechanic overall but his experience is with large jet planes and no construction equipment and trucks. While he is MORE then capable of doing the job there is a lot of stuff for him to get up to speed on, it is going to end up being part of my job to help him catch up.
This is going to be kind of weird for me. I have a huge amount of respect for my dad professionally. As a mechanic I really look up to him, it will be awkward to have to train him and show him the ropes.
On an unrelated note, my cat is sleeping on my desk in a puddle of water caused form the fact he can not drink water without dousing himself....
Why, of why, did I get a glass topped desk?

needing to train my Dad would be really weird ... lucky for me I will never have that problem.
