Well the cold is here... and with authority no less. Even after living my whole life in Chicago I am still shocked when the weather does one of it's classic overnight season changes.
Where the hell did the 60's go?
And just for added fun I got to start my day off outside laying on the ground under a truck for an hour to change a starter. If I ever meet the man who invented insulated coveralls I may kiss him on the lips, with tongue.
---------
So I am moving... SOON.
I had been planning to move in the next few months but it looks like the schedule has been moved up a bit by the evil management company I lease from.
When I signed my lease a year ago this time of year I knew I did not want to stay very long but I also did not want to be moving in Dec. again.. it kind of SUCKS. So I made sure that at the end of the lease I could go month to month or sign like a 2 or 3 month lease and move in Feb or March. They claimed that would be no problem.
Well apparently it is.
?Seems they decided to change policy and now I have to sign a minimum 7 month lease. Oh, and they are going to raise my rent 110 dollars/month. If I choose to I *can* live here paying month to month but I have to pay a 150 dollar a month service fee. This will put my rent, on a one bedroom slum in the 'burbs, at OVER 900/month.
Fuck that shit, bucktown/Logan square here I come. I can rent more for less, my commute will be a little worse but not as bad as when I lived near Kenosha and drove to Addison so no big deal there... Plus everything I want to do is in the area.... Hard choice, I mean how often is it LESS to live where you want?
Of course the down side is I have to be out of here Dec. 31.... That means moving over the holidays
The plan is to be in the new place by the 15th at the latest... then I can take some time to move my shit over the 2 weeks.
so who wants to help me move my couch and bed
The real bummer here is the time crunch is less then great on the checkbook.... I had been planning my 'pilgrimage' to Memphis to talk to Elvis later this month and I may have to shove it back... So pissed about that... it means I will have missed Elvis 100% this year and not gone at all.
I'll just have to make up for it and hit Memphis TWICE next year
