Ok, so I feel proud of myself in a fucked up sort of way, for not making a bad situation worse. I have started carrying my camera to work a few days ago to try and catch some random moments on my walks to and from work. So today, on my way home as I was crossing the street a couple blocks up from the three stupid intersections in a row.(the kind where the cross streets don't line up so everyone gets all in the road when they're trying to force their way into rush hour traffic, I cross in between blocks before I get to them because it's way safer than trying to cross in any of those clusterfucks) Anyway, I noticed some non-moving headlights on the left side and when I got closer I saw the heads of people standing in the road, and figured that it was a small accident, not surprising since every other day I am amazed that there's not more because of the stupidness of the intersection, and the impatient drivers. As I approached I heard a lot of laughter and strange comments (since a lot of them were in spanish, I had only a vague idea of the sort of things they were saying) When I got to the liquor store on the corner of the second intersection, I could see what they were all laughing at. A man was lying in the road, with his entire bare ass hanging out of his pants. Now this is a part of the neighborhood where seeing men being carried around by other men, or weaving all over the sidewalk or even falling down wasted on the sidewalk is not at all unusual. When I went into the liquor store (where everyone was laughing at the poor guy) I thought that my camera was in my bag and I could take a picture of this guy bare-assed in the road, but I felt bad, so I did not. As I was leaving the liquor store, the cops arrived and I noticed that there wasn't a car around that wasn't parked or caught in the traffic well behind him, so I still don't know if he was hit or just fell over in the road whether from drink, or drugs or because it was raining and slippery. I am glad that I didn't take a picture of his poor bare ass in the road, but I apologize to those of you who might have enjoyed the randomness of it here in my journal.
