to those of you I blew off last night, sorry.
(Including the SGATLiens and leigh and cara)
i really did want to go out.
i even really did take a shower in hopes that it would make me feel more awake and more human.
(but it did not work.)
so I couldn't do it.
but thanks for the voicemails and texts, i felt loved.
as for that whole sleeping thing, well at least i slept for a while last night, i stayed up late enough that i was exhausted and it helped, though i am wide awake fairly godawful early for a saturday morning.
weird story. when i was in high school (long long ago now) my mom had a boyfriend named mike that i really didn't get along with for various reasons.
on wednesday, at work we were talking about creepy people and high school and i told a story about him after not thinking about him for years.
thursday night, i get the following text message from my mom (yes, i hate the phone so much, i even have my mom trained to text me instead of call )
"do you remember michael that i lived with? he died suddenly on saturday"
makes me think of this quote...
"A lot o' people don't realize what's really going on. They view life as a bunch o' unconnected incidents 'n things. They don't realize that there's this, like, lattice o' coincidence that lays on top o' everything. Give you an example; show you what I mean: suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness."
i will leave you all with two things from last nights binge.
this... is, to me, one of the lyrically romantic songs evah...
and for the 'who'da thunk it?' pile gnarls barkley covering the violent femmes.
(there is also a clip of the dresden dolls covering a femmes song at a tower records in store, but in the video, you just see some guys head.)
