There was a LAN party charity event I attended in March.
Ticket sales went to cash prizes and charity, winners of various tournaments were given the option to take the money or donate it to charity in their name (or name of their clan, group ect..).
They were also selling merch benefiting https://www.k9sforwarriors.org/
(K9s For Warriors is dedicated to providing service canines to our Warriors suffering from Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury, and/or Military Sexual Trauma as a result of military service post-9/11.)
As usual people got together with their computers to play video games for prizes, charity and just for fun and.
Throughout the weekend they projected Sci-Fi/computer related shows and movies on the wall (IE, Hackers, War Games, The Twilight Zone)
This was a little smaller event of ~150 people in general the for myself and most others went like: Show up, setup computer, play games, gorge self on pizza, at 3am-ish get ready for bed and one by one every one falls asleep where they may and wake up at 9am to do it all over again. Friday-Sunday.
Didn't get so many interesting pictures because I forgot but had some fun and learned something new and got to do 2 things I rarely do in public.
What I learned:
VR is like a moped, it's a fun ride but no one looks cool using it
2 things I rarely get to do in public:
1.) Wear my IronMan sleeping bag
2.) Wear my gaming jersey
Good times had and money collected for good causes, all in all a good weekend.
