Today, we hit the electronics stores. Why, you ask? Well, because. Because we're meeting Cory Doctorow next week. Because it's a cold day, or getting cold. Because soon you, and I, will be stuck inside with our gas masks or fire extinguishers (acid baths, maybe antimony) - locked in by the snow. Or maybe the snow is an excuse, but still it's cold outside, and these boxes of potential, potentiometers, potency are so much more warming.
Why, you ask? I'm searching for parts. I'd like to make a 3D printer, only mine will be out of lego, and it will print in bright green frosting. Frosting melts easily, you see, I can sit crouched over the spinning plate with a squirt bottle and erase what I print slowly, in polar coordinates. First it will be a bust of Queen Elizabeth II. I think next I will erase Caesar, and then move onto more obscure personalities. It will be satisfying in the abstract to melt Jan van Eyck, followed by Barbarossa. And yes, I know we're supposed to see that concert tonight. But perhaps you don't understand: we will have to get tickets at the door, and it's a cold wait. And you will get in line. And I will stay in the cafe across the street.
