As for your question. Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art created by African slaves over 400 years ago rebelling against their Portuguese owners. It looks like a dance, because the slaves had to hide what they were actually doing in order to train it. The berimbau is the traditional instrument to create the beat while you "play" capoeira.
