Foaming At The Mouth
Laws of Unintended Consequences
For my entire life up until now, I have been a proud (even smug) non-smoker. Never touched the filthy things. Except for about two months during my senior year of college, when I would smoke while drinking, I never even came close to being a smoker. So now here we have Chicago's new anti-smoking laws, meaning that anytime some poor smoker wants to light up at a bar, they have to go outside and forcibly exile themselves. What I'm finding for myself however is that I'm following the smokers outside so I can keep up my conversations with them. The bonus to it is that it's quieter and less crowded outside so I don't need to be asked twice when someone suggests I join them.
So the upshot is that the smoking ban is turning me into a smoker. Thanks a fucking lot, King Richard. If anyone has a suggestion as to what I can do outside that doesn't involve tobacco I'm all over it. I prefer the addictions and vices I already have and I'm not in the market for another.

No matter how sage the advise.
But do keep in mind that given the situation and my usual demeanor I am doing pretty damn good by just not being in jail for a felony.
