Based on the alarmed replies that my last blog generated, I feel some clarifications are in order. For the benefit of my concerned friends (and any loss-prevention professionals who happen to be reading) my last entry detailing exploits as a casual shoplifter were the product of my frequently mis-calibrated sense of humor. What I thought was a clever little exercise in humorous nihilism led some to believe I'm a Leopold & Loeb-esque repeat offender, driven by sordid thrills and condescending intellectual superiority.

The main lesson for today, kids, is, in the words of Kurt Vonnegut, "You must be very careful who you pretend to be,"

The other is that I'm tired of sucking at being me.
