So i just had the most incredible weekend in Chicago. I spent literally every dime i have, which blows, but it was worth it. I took 6 or 7 rolls of film -- can't wait to get them back (but since that requires MONEY it might be a while...) I was introduced to more new music, courtesy of my new friends, and I am more and more excited to find more new music. We saw Even in Blackouts last night & PAL & Sharky Doyles opened for them -- all Chicago bands. I loved them all. It was great! Not to mention there was this one totally hot guy in Sharky Doyles (bass guitarist) who I talked to all night -- before and after he went on. He bought me drinks, gave me his number (so I gave him mine), and then when Even in Blackouts were on stage, he was dancing w/me. It was fun. Nothing will come of it -- and I like someone else anyway -- but that was just cool.
I walked like I've never walked before this weekend -- blisters on my feet (ouch). Saw every part of Chicago (or so it seems) and it was just fucking awesome. Want to go back so bad. Or move there. I thought I'd always be a small-town girl, but now I don't want to be. The city kicks ass. So much to do, and see, and learn, and experience. Just blew me away.
Listening to Yeah Yeah Yeahs now. I was also introduced to this band this weekend, and I love Karen O's voice. Wow. Amazing.
I'm up for any suggestions as to some good bands I might like. I'm at this whole "wanting to learn" point in my life. And I'm loving it.
