Holy crap, I had just finished a sweet journal entry when my internet browser decided to take a short nap, so now I have to start all over!
Anyway, here's a little more about me:
Three-plus years ago, when I was a high school senior, the government came up to me and said, "hey, we'll pay for four years of college at the prestigious naval academy in annapolis if you simply sign this little document...and maybe one day you can be a jet pilot like tom cruise in TOPGUN!!" And my broke ass was like, "sweet, where do I sign." And the G-man goes "right here on this line...and it had better be in blood, ahhhghghahahaha" and BAM there went three years of my life up until now. Okay, so they haven't been all that bad, except for the last few weeks since they've been trying to kick me out for something so simple as getting royally shitfaced and crashing my car onto an airport runway in some remote Delaware town!
I probably deserve to get kicked out, I was an idiot for drinking and driving and I'll regret doing it for the rest of my life. But man, talk about an organization filled with hypocrites. I know so many people in the Navy who have DUIs it's ridiculous, and they look down on me at being the scum of the earth? Needless to say, I haven't been too unhappy with looking at other options. I'll probably take a year off and get a job around Bel Air (where my family lives), but then I think I'd probably like to go to school in New Orleans. I hear the people are very nice down there. Another thing is that, in light of recent events in Iraq, I'm not completely sure I'm willing to continue on in the Navy. I love this country, but wrong is wrong...
However, if they do decide to keep me here, I'll be stuck on restriction until July 10, meaning I pretty much can't leave my little room. So if any of you nice people live in the Balt-Annap area and want to serve your country, bring me some Subway and maybe I'll even let you have a bite or two!!
