Some cops are nicer than others....(and, I've heard, some cops' mothers are nicer than other cops' mothers).
I got pulled over this morning. I was on my way to work. I, shall we say, paused at a stop sign as is my idiom. I saw him come around the corner and I swiftly headed into the parking lot of the coffee shop (which is where I was heading anyway, I just wouldn't normally come in that entrance). He pulled up behind me as I was getting out of the car and starting to head toward the door. He asked for my license and stuff and told me why he'd "pulled me over" (in quotes, you know, because I was already parked and out of my car before he stopped and flashed those lights). Now, frequent readers of my bland life will remember that about two months ago I got my first ticket in damn near ten years, it was for not staying quite so long at a stop sign as Mr. Police Officer felt I should.....so, I figured I was dead this morning since that's gotta show up when he runs my info, right? I mean, if you're a cop and you just pulled someone over and you see that only two months before they had gotten a ticket for the exact same infraction you were pulling them over for, wouldn't you give them a ticket? While this cop was apparently feeling quite munificent (damn, do I love that word)....he gave me a verbal warning instead of a ticket! Rock! Those tickets cost $105 and two points, I don't need that again.
So, the moral of the story, I should learn to come to a complete and full stop each and every time I come to a stop sign. I doubt I will actually do that, but I should, eh. I've now been pulled over for that three times (the first time was about five years ago) and I have only gotten a ticket once. Hey, 2/3 without a ticket is pretty damn good!
Other than that, not much to report except for the fact that I am probably heading to Detroit on Thursday to take in a day game at Comerica with my brother. I'll get to see Bonderman mow down some Devil Rays. Also, since it is a day game after a night game Pudge probably won't start, so I will get to see Sanchez, Crawford and Hollins run all over Vance Wilson (you know, when they don't strike out).

I have only have one ticket, about 8 years ago. But that was a traffic accident so I'm not sure that counts really... btw, it wasn't actually my fault but the guy whos fault it was took off so I guess I was next in line...
