I ended up being stuck at work until 10:30ish, so no movie for Dave....oh well, like I said, I know fuck all about Che Guevara, so it isn't that big of deal to me to not see it on the big screen.
Speaking of seeing things on the big screen: I just found out that The Music Box Theatre is doing a midnight showing of A Clockwork Orange on February 25th and 26th. They are also doing a run of Paths of Glory starting on the 25th. So, I'm thinking of going to Chicago for a couple of days to go see them. How many chances will I get to see them on the big screen. Especially Paths of Glory. I mean, Clockwork is a cult favorite and most everyone has seen it. But Paths of Glory is a very underrated and underseen film. It's one of Kubrick's best. To me it ranks third behind Clockwork and Strangelove.
I will probably take the train down. The clutch in my car is on borrowed time. Also, I haven't taken the train in several years, so that would be fun. And really, it's only about $50 for a roundtrip ticket and I could drop most of that in gas on the way there and back. Of course, this all hinges on whether or not I can get the days off. Sadly, it means taking a Friday and Saturday off and that hurts me wee little pocketbook.
Right now I am watching Dogville...I love this movie so much. It's so rare that I like Nicole Kidman or any movie she is in, but this is definitely an exception.
Edited to add: HOLY SHIT!!! this makes me ridiculously happy, dare I say ecstatic...

Actually, I haven't seen any of those other three. I think Keaton was more of a hired hand in those, and although I'd imagine his contributions are worth seeing, they're probably not your best introduction to his work.

Oh, wow, I just noticed you play the accordion, too. I took lessons for 10 years!
