Work sucked....no big shock there. I actually made decent money though. Much of what I made came on one delivery though, thanks be the gods for that one.
After work I finished reading Hamlet. I got into an argument the other day about this particular play. It is oft heralded as his best, personally I came to hate it through the years. Anyway, a friend of mine and I were debating whether a Freudian reading of the play is accurate. He claims, "Well, tons of scholars have said it is." I claim, "They're fucking morons then." So, I reread the play again. First of all let me just say that I take back all the things I have said about it, damn, that's a fine play. I'd read it before but for some reason or another I really liked it this time. Don't get me wrong, it's not cracking my top five or anything, but I don't hate it anymore. Secondly, allow me to reitterate, they are fucking morons. Their claims that Hamlet is Oedipal are fucking shite! Anyway....don't want to bore y'all with that.
Instead, I will bore you with the fact that I started reading Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith after I finished Hamlet. You know, it isn't as dull and dreary and dry as one may expect. It's actually quite interesting and a good read.
I got another email from a very special someone last night....it made my fucking day. I haven't written back yet because I'm a horrible slacker, but I need to get on that.....
