Time slips away so easily. I thought I’d be good about blogging every day this week, and here we are on Friday, and I’ve missed Wednesday and Thursday. I wasn’t even particularly busy enough to have skipped out on blogging. There is, perhaps, much on my mind.
I’m always a last minute preparer. I will take care of things that need to be taken care of in advance, but for most things, like packing, I’ll procrastinate. Today is no different. I leave for AZ in the evening. I’ve shipped my overnight bag to my destination to avoid paying baggage fees. I have not, however, begun gathering the things I am taking with me on the plane. I just want to already be through security, cozied up with a beer, reading a book.
I don’t really take vacations. To disappear for a week just doesn’t happen. I’m a one man show for my business; my clients and students count on me to show up for their sessions and classes. And while I could just say I’ll be off for a week and they’d understand and encourage me, I still show up because I can. It’s the benefit of working predominantly online.
The prep really just comes down to making sure I have everything I need to remain productive during those times it’s required of me. Play time for the rest, I guess, though in writing this, I recall I have to pack swim trunks.
Play time indeed. It’ll be Drinco de Mayo on Sunday and my friend already has a pool day planned for us. Squats and tequila shots by the pool, because we’re fitness nerds but also lushes.
Anyway, here’s of poster of the lovely @elease, from her set Interstellar Affair:
