They said free. All you have to do is make the effort and you get the rewards for free. And then you put in the effort and meet the criteria and then they say congrats! you now qualify for the free thing after you pay for this other thing.
Free isn’t free, apparently.
I signed up for a cybersecurity certification, because it was advertised as free. Free study program, free exam, free certification. I worked through the study program. It took all of a week. I took the exam. It was a load of bs, as many of the questions weren’t covered in the course work. But you know what? I passed regardless because fuck that test. Then I receive an email that says I will receive my certification after I pay the dues to become a member of the certifying body.
🙄
Oh for fuck’s sake. This was the most misleading bullshit I’ve seen in a while, and that’s saying a lot, considering I was working in crypto for a few years. None of this shit was in the fine print. I read everything carefully before signing up, because I was damn sure there was a caveat, and it was only when I thought there was no caveat did I enroll.
There are many pitfalls and traps that will waste your valuable time, my friends. Stay vigilant.
Anyway, here’s a poster of the incredible @ellie looking hella fine in her set Ocean Eyes:
