Anyone play Tower of Fantasy?
I spent this past week trying to catch up on ToF. I want to complete all the winter festival missions before the event ends, and that means getting far enough through the Vera and Domain 9 missions to unlock access to their respective missions in this season’s event. As part of these missions, there is, of course, a raid boss, and in joining a team to take this thing on, I noticed my character does shit damage.
Like, barely any damage, if any damage at all.
I can make my way through the story well enough, and that’s led me to believe that I don’t really need to put in that much effort into building out my character. I think a big part of this thinking is due to the simple fact that I don’t really understand the character build system the game utilizes: the Simulacra. Games like Borderlands and Cyberpunk have skill trees, which I’m very familiar with. Simulacra, however, is entirely foreign to me. So even though I’ve managed to make it through a good amount of the game without deeply understanding the character build system, I’m opting to do a little research and better learn my way around it so I can contribute more than 0.0% damage.
And I’m coming to discover this shit is complicated.
It’s not enough to build out a particular character, you have to build out teams? This would be fine, but of all the guides I’ve read through already, none of them offer the best combo for the simulacra I’ve acquired. This means I’m going to have to understand each character’s strengths and weaknesses and put together a team that best synergizes among who I have. And that sound like a lot of work. If anyone’s reading this who plays, I’d greatly appreciate being directed to some really great resources.
Regardless of my complete and total lack of skill, I’m still having playing. And damn, this game is beautiful:
