Well, that was a whole week gone by without popping in. Tres bien. All good. Lots of writing. A whole lot of WTFs. And Twitter is still in the process of melting down, thanks to Overlord Musk’s War on Free Speech™️. Turns out, his idea of allowing unfettered speech on Twitter is limited only to those who worship him and/or his idols.
Funny how that works.
That aside, I’ve been busy. I wrote an op-ed titled “AI Art is a Remix” in this week’s Decentralized Arts newsletter about how our use of existing imagery to train AI models is no different than other forms of appropriation across all creative endeavors. I also wrote a little piece to accompany this week’s LVNACY art work, 12 DIMENSIONAL NONSENSE. And I have several drafts in the wings, awaiting the right timing for publishing. It’s been a good writing week, even if I do feel a little guilty for not sticking 100% to my plan of writing here every day.
