catching up with dnonsense -
the weekend was pretty good. saturday, i got some coffee with some friends, then went to work for a few hours. pixxie was sick, so i went home early in the afternoon to take care of her...made lunch and then dinner, did the laundry, picked up around the apartment, domestic-type stuff. pixxie spent all of saturday resting, and so she was well enough to go to disneyland on sunday like we had planned. disneyland was awesome. of course, it helps that pixxie and our roomie, tracy, had a mutual friend from rhps working there, so we got in for free and even got a pass to get us to the front of the lines. i hadnt been to disneyland in years (maybe like 7 years) and so it was really interesting to see how stuff had changed. tomorrowland was re-painted bronze and everything looked like that movie treasure planet. the swiss family robinson house is now the tarzan treehouse. the submarine ride with the mermaids is gone. pirates of the caribbean was changed so as to be more p.c. -- the men are no longer chasing the women simply because theyre women, but because they have booze and food. of course, how this makes the ride more p.c. is beyond me since just before that scene theres still the buy a wench for a bride scene. go figure. although i enjoyed myself, i was a bit disappointed that so many things had changed. i guess its because i associate disneyland with childhood and you always want your childhood memories to last, you have a certain attachment to them and you just cant help it. we had a little bit of drama at the end of the day, but you can read about that in pixxies journal. still, it was good day. i finally went on the indiana jones ride. the mattahorn was running and great. i still love the haunted house -- i dont care how cheesy anyone may think it is, it still rocks my world. i got to go to the california adventures park too and that was neat. it was nice to have a day away from work and hang out with pixxie.
other things on my mind: since pushover broke up, i feel like i dont do anything creative or just for fun anymore. work is taking up so much time, i just dont have any real hobbies anymore. pixxie thinks i should just go ahead and get back into some of my old hobbies and not worry about what kind of time it takes up. im going to try to do that. i also wish i had the money to buy a new computer so i can start recording music again -- some form of pro tools rig, even if its an older one. writing and arranging music was always my main love when i was in bands (i think i liked doing that and performing the best, everything else was secondary), and i doubt ill ever stop writing music (im just kind of compelled to do it, you know?); and so, i just want to have the means to record ideas now and then and flesh them out into fully arranged songs. if anyone has any ideas how i should go about this (inexpensively), let me know.
this week: more work, pixxie doing the lingerie contest at rhps in the valley (see her journal -- my girls good at that sort of thing, and itll be her and her friend in the contest), getting some save the date cards for our wedding and picking out the invitations, a birthday party for one of my h.s. friends.
next week: off to austin for the south by southwest music conference (work stuff).
yeah: what is your name? what is your quest? what is the air speed velocity of an unladed swallow?
p.s. sorry all - i have to buy a new ac adaptor for my scanner, so i won't be able to put up those polaroids from poopy dave's dinner for a little while.

hey - send me an email and let me know what kind of scanner you have - I know this guy in the computer industry that may be able to hook you up
tell me about pushover, and more about the kind of music you want to do, what you play, and all that... I've done the band thing a few times (not in a few years), I love the whole collaborative and creative process there, and have been needing to do explore that again. Even if it's just talking it's just a wonderful thing.... seriously.
