busy, busy weekend. first off, i finally got my first tattoo on sat. i didn't want one unless it was deeply meaningful for me, so i got one dedicated to my family. if you ever grew up in an immigrant family, then you probably know full well that as a first gen. american, you spend a LOT of time with your family and you end up lost somewhere between 2 cultures -- that of your family and the "american" one you grew up. so, in honor of my family, and my hardcore catholic upbringing (can we say, guilt?) i got a sacred heart dedicated to my family. yeah, a little rockabilly, but whatever.
on sunday, i went to my brother's place just to drop off a computer i got for him and get a quick bite to eat. yeah. it ended up being a half-a-day affair! his car broke down when we drove off to find a place to eat and we ended up having to push his car back into his gated neighborhood and then waiting for a tow.
then, bbkf and i were supposed to go couch shopping. we've been wanting to buy a nice sleeper couch for the apartment. our thought -- of course! -- being that we'd rather have a sleeper so we can have even MORE room for people at our place when we throw our little shindigs (the futon, and the guest bedroom isn't enough!??). but, the custom couch place that was recommended to us was STILL closed. their new showroom was supposed to have been opened by now (the old one was destroyed in a fire), but now they won't be open until the end of the month.
so, for a consolation prize, we got a couple of new bikes instead. electra townies -kind of a cross between a classic cruiser and a more modern bike, but with really low seats!
how was the burlesque show? what debauchery did bbkf and i miss?
p.s. just put up pictures of my tattoo and our new bikes
