It looks like my hometown may end up being burnt to a crisp. I grew up in Sunland-Tujunga; and although most city folk think the place's a bit backwards, it's still special to me. My family's old house is off of Mt Gleason Ave. I learned to play baseball on the little league fields in the Angeles Forest and all my cub scout outings were up there. We used to drive and then "hike" into the very hills that are now on fire to get scared out of our wits at the old cemetery and do ummm...other things. My aunt's already been evacuated (as her house is pretty far up into the hills). I have a fair number of friends who still live (or have parents living) in S-T and they're all watering down their houses (or their parents' houses) and waiting to see if they get evacuation orders. I keep checking my facebook to see how they're all doing. I know, I know, I know...S-T has seen its share of fires and floods and lots of other things before. But, this is getting a bit surreal.
