we all have something about ourselves we wish we could change
sometimes we can,
sometimes we can't.
the important thing is to try.

(good, but not as inspirational of a movie as i thought it'd be. see if i ever trust oprah again! haha, kidding, well, sorta... ya see, that's why i try to go into movies with no preconceived notions or expectations)
in other news, my parents are moving to mexico a week from today. it's kinda weird cuz it'll be the first time we won't live in the same city.
i've spent many summers here and there, and i moved out to go to college and have been on my own for quite some time. i don't even really see or talk to my parents that often--usually just an occasional meal when they're in the neighborhood with the lure of free food being the major motivating factor. yum. but nonetheless my parents, brother, and i have all always lived in some random corner of h-town.
so it will be different having them live in another country about 1000 miles away instead of 50, and being an expensive international call away instead of a local one.
i wonder if i can still use mom as my own personal gps system. she's lived in houston her whole life so whenever a short cut around traffic backfires i just call and say hey, i'm at this and this street, how can i get here avoiding traffic on this useless highway. ha.
i'm gonna miss em (and not just the free meals and gps system).
if you are full of angsty feelings toward your parents, sorry the contrast is probably sickening for you. some parents suck and are a pain in the ass. i'm lucky to have cool ones. and i'm ok if that loses me 20 cool points in your book, i got plenty to spare. ha!
well, i do look forward to having another place to crash in mexico. i'm sure i'll be partying down there frequently! wanna come?! gotta have a passport now, unfortunately. but everyone should have one anyway. it's the 21st century, travel is easy, broaden your damn horizons already! ha. well, goodnight friends.
