I would have seen 4 good shows in as many days, but
Current mood: sick
I kinda gots the swollen throat and it's hard to eat and actually just breath without my throat hurting and some headaches from the congestion. I coulda seen the lovely and talented Margo Lee at spaceland yesterday but didn't but tonight I will go out even if I feel miserable, Eisley is tonight at the troubadour. I already got tickets. Tuedsay has to many good bands going on. I will be hopefully, if I don't die, seeing New Maximun Donkey, the Randies, and Yes Dear at the key club. If that ends before midnight then I can catch 2 more bands at the Echo, The Dollyrots and the Mormons. Then Wednesday is Los Abandonded at the hop in yes, The City of Industry.
It should be a memorable week, kinda like when I saw back to back, Blur - Jon Spencer Blues Explosion - then Fiona Apple all at the fillmore.
BANG SUGAR BANG wins the Independent Music World Series in San Francisco.
(February 4, 2005) SAN FRANCISCO - Los Angeles based rock band BANG SUGAR BANG won the Independent Music World Series, presented by Discmakers, last night in San Francisco, garnering $35K in prizes and services.
Competing against five other bands of amazing talent and diverse musical genres, the judging panel, comprised of industry A&R people, judged BSB to be the best overall band in the competition.
The event was held at 12 Galaxies in the Mission district of San Francisco.
Band members Matt, Cooper and Pawley, were visibly stunned and reluctant to walk to the mic after their name was called as the winners by the event coordinator, Andre.
They all continued to mutter the phrase, "I can't believe this," five hours after the competition had concluded.
BSB will be celebrating their winnings at their show tonight at Phoenix Theatre in Petaluma, CA, then returning home for the Super Bowl on Sunday.
