Just got back from vacation in Florida yesterday. I was volunteering to help victims of the three or four hurricanes that swept through last year. I had a lot of fun. I was so glad to just be away from school for a while and to be able to relax in the sun. There was some personality clash along the way, mainly with the two women who were acting as chaperones. The devil in me would never allow me to take them seriously as authority figures. It takes a very special type of person to earn that sort of respect from me.
I got to spend some time with a couple of people I didn't know very well before the trip, and really enjoyed being with them. I realize that despite my frequent periods of solitude, I am still very much a pack animal. In high school it was much more noticeable, but I can see that I still need to be able to function within a tight-knit group in order to thrive, usually as the Alpha or Beta.
After the trip I'm considering moving to Florida. Even with all the hurricanes, I really enjoyed it down there. Everyone else seemed to be having allergy problems (due to the orange trees I think), but whatever it is that stirs my allergies was absent in Florida. In fact, it was the healthiest I have felt since I had mono last year. I ate at a restaurant owned by this Mafioso type guy who claimed to own five casinos, and it was the best italian food I can ever remember having. I had my hair cut down there and it was the best haircut I've gotten since I cut all my long hair off right after high school. I didn't meet a single impolite asshole the whole time I was there. Perhaps it really is all a part of who you are and your perspective, but I saw so much beauty while I was away, in the people I was with and in the world around me.

What part of florida did you go to? Yeah Florida definitly has it's pros and cons. It's nice and warm all year long but in the summer it's hotter than hell. And in general people in north florida are nice but the south floridians not so much. I was born and raised in S Fla and live in N Fla now, so I'm allowed to talk shit about S Fla haha.
