Again, I've spent a great portion of my night recapturing the awesomeness that was my childhood.
I've been watching Galaxy High on YouTube. This was one of the greatest fucking cartoons ever made. It blows my mind to think that there was once this magical era when kids ritualistically got up every Saturday morning and dashed to the TV to eat cereal and watch some of the finest pieces of art that were ever crafted by human hands.
When I see the quality of some of these old cartoons, such as Galaxy High, it makes me wonder what the fuck was happening in people's minds. How the fuck did Scooby-Doo, one of the most poorly animated, poorly scripted shows ever made stay on television for 30 goddamn years, and shows like Galaxy High only last one season.
Then there came a time when all the network channels started saying "fuck kids" and just showed news on Saturday mornings.
Go watch cartoons now, all the lame-ass flash animated shows, all the craftless, artless, soulless, nobody-gives-a-shit assembly lined garbage out there. It just seems like there was a time when people wanted to make something good, not something that was cheap and easy, something pasty and gruel-like to kids. Jim Henson made Fraggle Rock because he really fucking believed he could get kids to believe in uplifting things. He thought it was going to help create world peace.
