Today i'm going to talk about a current crisis thats happening to a country that i love and now call home.
As you have seen on the news and on social media Australia is suffering from the worst and most devastating bushfires this country has ever had to deal with.
At least 1700 homes have been destroyed, an estimated 7 million hectares of land has burnt already, and in this season alone 23 people have been killed so far. This includes 3 volunteer firefighters in New South Wales who have died whilst battling the fires, and the worst part of all of this, is that there is no sight of this fire season ending any time soon as we approach the two hottest months of summer.
I have dreamed of moving to Australia and travelling here for so long and to finally be here and see my dream home suffer countless losses of lives and landscape for both animals and people is heartbreaking, thats why i want to do everything i can and in my power to help this amazing country that i love in their time of need.

An estimated 480 million animals have been killed since bushfires started in September 2019. This figure comes from Professor Chris Dickman who is an expert on Australian biodiversity at the University of Sydney. This is an overwhelming and heartbreaking estimate and they need us more than ever right now to come together and help the best we can.

This little cutie has suffered burns from the fires and the mittens that have been made through this group are helping to heal those wounds.
I would like to thank every single person who has already donated to charity in Australias time of need, i'd also like to thank the hard working doctors, nurses, vets and the animal rescue teams who are doing everything that they can right now to help and i also want to thank the Firefighters who are on the front line of this national disaster working night and day, thank you for putting your lives on the line to keep us all safe.
It's in horrible times like these we are reminded of the good in humankind coming together worldwide to help those who need it most.
