I had really bad day at work. It was way busier than it normally was and we got slammed on the front end. It filled me with anxiety and a bit of fear, like maybe we're letting too many people into the store and we need to control that more. Just sick of dealing with the public. These people have a strange fascination with using...

Here is my interview with Fuzz, which is one of many Ty Segall projects. This one is for anybody who likes early 70's proto-metal. They rock. Unfortunately, didn't get to interview Ty, but their guitarist Charles did a great job with this. Enjoy.

@gumballhead Doing those "what does your name mean" interviews are terrible. It shows a lack of skill by the writer. You should always research the band you are interviewing so you can ask better questions. Internet should make it easier, sometimes it doesn't because some bands don't a have presence on here. But still you have to try, at the very least read the press releases you've gotten on the new album for some talking points. I'm not saying I always come up with great questions, but I always try. And I like Albini's production work, not the cult that surrounds him, or some of his views about what constitutes "selling out".
gumballhead:
I'm pretty harsh when it comes to what I like and what I don't. I've stopped talking about it, just so I don't get into arguements. It's cost me a lot in art jobs. That being said, I've watched the musical landscape change in such weird ways, and it's made me happy.

Here is my review of a new band from the Bay Area, that merges Hot Snakes-esque rock n roll with post hardcore. Enjoy.

Here's a review of the new album from Richmond, VA's Loud Night, who merge d-beat punk with the riffs and grime of Motorhead and Venom. Very cool and very metal. Enjoy.

NICE. I loved Ramming Speed! Good to hear more from the guysvin that band.
noiserocker1:
@gumballhead Yeah, their drummer contacted me to see if I still wrote and would like to write about his new band. Originally, I pitched this to New Noise, but it was already assigned, so I took it to this blog I sometimes write for in my home state. I usually do show preview interviews for them when some band I dig comes through, well, before all this. Though, my main focus is New Noise these days.

I just wanted to say my work has been leaving me feeling really sad these days. Trying to focus on the positives, but sometimes that is hard given the state of the world. No matter what kind of day I've had, I always leave sad. Plus, I've been feeling lonely. Hope you all aren't feeling like this.

Just want to let people know if they're...

How is everybody holding up in their parts of the world? Where I live, which is in the Northeastern United States, we're not doing too bad with the pandemic compared to other parts of the country. We still have to follow the protocols and a lot of things still aren't happening. Work has been brutal. I work in a Whole Foods, when I'm not doing...

It's difficult here in Missouri.  There's a TON of dumbasses here. Luckily I'm a big tall monster, so rednecks don't dare make fun of me for wearing a mask. I'm expecting a spike in covid cases at any time now, it so lax here. I'm doing good though. Staying away from bar has somehow given me more time to work!
noiserocker1:
@gumballhead Good to hear you're doing alright. I can't imagine why people would be so lax. Here it is very strict and we're not expecting a spike. Still, you're doing the right thing by wearing a mask. And it's good you have had more time to work.

I've been busy with the writing. Here's a review of the new one from Exhalants, which are a killer noise rock band from Austin, TX. And on Monday, they'll run my review of the killer new Napalm Death platter. Enjoy this one and look out for the one coming on Monday.
