I know I haven't been on here much in the past few months. I even had my membership expire and didn't renew it for about a week. Like most things, there have been some good and some bad. Work has been terrible. I don't like working there anymore. It's not just the customers, it's the way the store is run. The favoritism and a lot bs that goes with their day to day operations. It was always like this, even before Amazon took us over, but at least it was fun, with fun people being hired, now all that joy is gone. I work at a Whole Foods. Anyway, I've been looking for jobs, but I want to find something outside retail, if I can. So, I'm staying there for now because I need a job, and I at least want to make it to my 9 year anniversary at the store, which is this upcoming July 3. I really don't know how I've lasted there that long. Though, seriously, the customers just really annoy me now. More than ever before. Oh well...life.
Some good things. Most of you saw the cover story I wrote when I posted the picture on here a few weeks ago. That is going fine, still writing for them. Though, I'm having trouble starting the book I said I would start this year. I'll get to it when I can. I still exercise for four times a week. Three days of DDP Yoga and one day of jogging in place. I'm down to about 200lbs. When I starting taking exercise and eating better seriously three years ago I was at about 246, so I've lost considerable weight and I'm quite proud of myself. You can sort of see it in the picture I posted on here about week ago, where I'm holding the magazine with my cover story in it. So that's cool.
In addition, I don't have to wear a mask to work if I don't want too, as long as I'm fully vaxxed, which I am. I was nervous about this at first, but decided to do it. It will be situational. Some places don't require masks, but other places do, and I want to still be careful, so I'm still wearing it on most occasions. But things are starting to open up.
And I bought my first ticket for my first show since this whole thing started. The heavy shoegaze band Nothing is playing my state in October and I bought a ticket. Touring is starting back up here in the US in the Fall. Some summer ones, too, but I'm going to wait. Still, couldn't believe this day would come.
Well, I hope you are all doing well wherever you are in the world. I hope the pandemic isn't getting you down, because I know different countries are having different experiences with it, some more difficult than others. I hope you all stay healthy and try not to get depressed by it all.
Hang in there.
