This day has been really terrible and it hardly has even begun. Before I left for work I had to say goodbye to our dog, because at 18, she was in a lot of pain, and we were putting her down out of mercy. Other family members were going to handle that while I was at work.
Then at work (I work in a Whole Foods), I was bagging for my co-worker Julian. We processed this order for this ragged looked old man, with a scraggly white beard and a crusty looking mask. So, we do what we're supposed and as he leaves, the guy says, "I hope you don't catch my coronavirus". That freaked us out. We got to talk to the store store team leader and tell him what went down, he offered us an opportunity to go home, which we did.
The customer wasn't coughing, breathing hard or sweating and we were all wearing masks. My supervisor and STL think he was trying to tell a joke, which we all agreed was in very poor taste. (People are starting to do that here in my country.) Who jokes about that? A fucking moron, that's who. So, I'm home now. I'm sure I'll be fine, but I'm a bit nervous. And upset.
All I can say is I hope karma isn't very kind to that customer.
