Allo,
I have been keeping a distance from the computer lately. Unintentional as it is, I do enjoy the space.
A trip to the semi-local used bookstore was a good success. Here is what I came home with (and for a mere twenty eight dollars):
Howl (and Other Poems) by Allen Ginsberg
Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger
Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger
Raise High The Roofbeam, Carpenters and Seymour (an introduction) by J.D. Salinger
On Art and Artists by Aldous Huxley
A Collection Of Essays by George Orwell
Animal Farm (50th Anniversary Edition Hardcover w/ Illustartions by Ralph Steadman) by George Orwell
The Proud Highway (The Fear and Loathing Letters, Vol. 1) by Hunter S Thompson
Fear and Loathing In America (The Gonzo Letters, Vol. 2) by Hunter S Thompson
Breakfest Of Champions (hardcover) by Kurt Vonnegut Jr
Cat's Cradle (1963 Trade Edition) by Kurt Vonnegut Jr
Perv - A Love Story (hardcover) by Jerry Stahl
and also a 12" record too:
Nebraska by Bruce Springsteen.
I am most excited about the Animal Farm hardcover because I have had this edition borrowed from someone for quite sometime, but the dust jacket was in rough shape, where as my copy is near perfect and Mr. Steadman's art is clear and preserved. My favorite book with a loved artist all in one. I was also very happy to get the hardcover of Breakfest Of Champions and and the trade edition of Cat's Cradle. I plan to own multiple copies of both of these books in many different versions.
Enough of all this, I need to go and read them now.
Cheers.
Noise:
Rilo Kiley "Capturing Moods"
Kaada "No You Don't"
U.S.V. "Fuckin' Happy Enough For You?"
