The Hills Have Eyes 2:
Nothing like the original sequel film from 1985, which is a great thing, but this film still isn't anything special. A little bit more gore than the remake of the first film, but it is gore that isn't done as well and obviously added for cheap thrills. I have nothing against cheap thrills, but this just was a bit weak and cheesy because of it all. The acting was far from great also, and well, the characters reasoning skills were unbelievably sub par for National Guardsman. Overall, the movie was a pretty big let down after the greatness of the 2006 remake of the original film.
Hellboy Animated: Blood & Iron
This is the second Hellboy Animated dvd and it was made with the same style and quality of the first film. Ron Pearlman, Selma Blair and Doug Jones all came back to do the voices of their characters and I was very happy to see that this film also featured John Hurt as the Professor. I would like to note that Doug Jones has done a great job of taking over vocal duties for David Hyde Pierce, but then Doug Jones is amazing so of course he would. This story had to with the Queen of Blood legend (Elizabeth Bathory and the such) and incorporated familiar aspects and battles from the old Hellboy comics. Overall, I have really enjoyed the Hellboy Animated series of books and dvds. I only wish that they would do one whole film in true Mike Mignola art style, like how they did The Amazing Screw On Head, that would be an incredible thing.
Alright, have to go.
