Clare, today has been incredibly exciting in many respects! last night i did indeed write the promised postscript only to find that my motherboard's reboot problem was more than a little bit irritating; that was the first time it's rebooted and caused me to lose information, because i've still not installed any applications so usually there is no information to store anyway. so today i decided to be proactive about this pc status thing and actually format my partitions, allocate files, transfer data from my old hard disk and attempt to make my old system sellable so i can buy this incredible skirt i saw. basically all the money i now have is reserved for the debt collectors, and in fact i need more to cover my debts because they make it impossible to pay so you get charged for taking too long. pure evil. so i'm gonna sell and downgrade my phone tomorrow [poor baby! actually that's assuming i can find the hands free thing for it which i probably can't so bang goes that idea!] and then ian's lending me an nt4 license and he's given me some upgrade hardware to make the system vaguely inspiring, so i can sell that to pay the debts. but this skirt is truly the most beautiful item of clothing i have ever witnessed [apart from the sneakers which you too have witnessed] and i KNOW i will not rest until i can afford it. if only i were that motivated with my bills *sigh* pssst wanna lend me your student loan? although legend has it i can get a cheque for my overdue pay rise so maybe i should cash in on that...but the thought of getting it on top of next month's higher rate pay is just too much! maybe i could sell limbs. I NEED MONEY is the moral of the story. or i need to be less materialistic, one or both of the two.
work was unexpectedly marvellous for today this guy mark aldrich was working in our store! he travels round the stores and covers wherever is short staffed, and i worked with him a lot when i started. i'd forgotten how much fun work used to be, remember though i once meant it? mark was one of the reasons, he cracks me up so much and just dosses, and somehow being round him i get away with dossing too, and we just spent all day standing in the doorway smoking and catching up! he's one of those really great people who make you feel good about yourself because he's so totally accepting and there's no agendas or rating scales. and i so never knew he was gonna work today! i think that saved my job for one more day and stopped me walking out on ian. poor ian! he's helped me a lot tonight with my rearranging my computer though, i rang him to ask how to do one thing and he showed me all this cool shit i never knew about with xp pro, and he was reciting it all from his head word perfect! i was most impressed so i am a bit more kindly disposed towards him now
well done on getting your work all done, you are great as usual, and i was also impressed that you put my mind to rest a little; you said something about pragmatism [if indeed that is a word - yes i know i conjugated it like that not you, it's my fault really] and suddenly the world seemed right! i have to take a step back and breathe the pressure don't play my game i'll test ya psychosomatic addict insane. and if you think about it carefully that actually makes sense! i've really needed to sleep, but laughing a lot was almost as good. now i can get back on track for about 12 days before i throw another mental fit and stab people.
people i have actually stabbed so far:
1) jeremy
2) richard
3) myself
4) stewart
