woo, its been a while, i am getting rather slack arent i?? well im finally in peru, sitting in a net cafe in lima, and blow me if its not the goddam cutest town i ever did see! there is this mall area, like a shoping precinct, but most of the shopspaces are vacant, and the ones that are occupied are like star wars figurine displays (you get the impression not for sale though!), comic shops whose owners are thrilled to discuss manga in a foreign tongue, game shops where you can sit and play half life, and model shops where the kids hang out and paint models. on the basement level small boys sit playing magic the gathering in vast groups. the staircase bridging the floors continues right onto the roof which is covered in refuse. its just awesome!
the drivers here are totally chaotic. you hear horns beeping and tooting all hours of the night and day, used for every possible form of communication. crossing a road is pretty hit and miss too, though we hope for the misses...and the food is just incredible! we keep asking for room service and getting snacks delivered because everything is so much yummier than im used to! we get fresh squeezed orange and pineapple juice in the morning with warm rolls and coffee with warm cream. inca kola, the local soft drink, is gorgeous too, really sickly sweet the way i like it! i cant believe how much this country is living up to my expectations - mark and i have already decided to set up an internet company then move here and work for uk money to spend at peruvian rates hehe! buses cost like 20p, bottles of soft drink cost 35p, a 3 course meal in a reasonably nice restaurant costs about 6 quid per person! im loving it. this is just our settling into peru, we havent even joined our tour group yet, that will be on sunday. i cant wait to check out nazca but there are many other good things to come, like climbing the inca trail to macchu pichu, the colca canyon, lake titicaca and the amazon rainforest! woooo anyway i better get cracking, i am on a time limit! hope everyones doing good xxx

let me know when you get to you know where. i'll have them roll out the red carpet, play the national anthem, bust out the golden stretch limo, prepare the best room in the waldorf astoria, arrange for dinner at the white house, and a private screening of lord of the rings on an imax screen.
or we could go for pizza- your call.
