So my sister just moved from Pasadena to Chicago last week. She moved there to take a job at a very well established studio, so I am very proud of her. Wow, that sounded very bigbrotherish. I usually talk to her about once a week, but I have'nt had any contact with her since she moved. I'm not worried cuz she could probably kick your ass, but seriously, it would be cool if she called me to tell me she is alive. I think a friend and myself are flying out there in March for about a week. Hopefully by then she will have somewhere cool to take us. Eventually I will probably post a thread for Chicago folks to recommend places to go ( live music, museums, food, drinks etc). Never been there but I hear it's a great town.
a couple of days ago I was going through that box of shit in my closet. Ya know the one with shit you have no use for, but can't throw away. While I was going through it I found the ignition and gas cap keys to my first car which was a 64 Chevelle. Damn that brought back some memories, good bad and in between. I have had a serious itch to get another old ride for the last year. Finding those keys gave me even more motivation to get another one. So with that in mind I decided to put those keys on my keychain to act as a motivator for me. There is something to be said for a car that is not run by a fucking computer, a car that has soul and history, a car that can't be turned off by cops, a car that you can literally get in the motor bay to work on it, a car with no heated seats, a car that may stilll have an 8 track in it, no GPS and is mine, all mine! Muhahahah! If you have never experienced driving a classic you are missing out.
Today is the first day that I have had some time to spend on the site. Its fun to cruise around and scour the site every once in a while. I read some really entertaining entries, read some that made me a bit sad and some that made me angry. I guess those are what make the world turn.
Somebody give a line on some good bands to check out. Preferably ones that are not on my profile. If not music, send me links, good books, places to go. Send anything. If you're into it, let me know. I need something new in my life. As it's said in the car world, run what cha' brung!
FYI - ELVIS IS DEAD.
