yesterday went unbelievably well. the chemestry was great, and there were no gaps in the conversation or dead air. the whole thing felt like we've been doing this for years.
so, we're definitely a team, and it turns out we have an infinite amount of chances to wow management with the perfect show. if we turn this one in and they don't like it, then we'll just get back in the studio and do another one. they have 24 hours of HD radio that they have to program, we're bound to get one of those slots.
this is the happiest and most hopeful i've been in a long time. you should see the smile on my face right now. i'm goin' places i tell ya!

in other news... i found out a couple of days ago, that last monday, a friend i have known all of my life was walking with her boyfriend around the cliffs of palos verdes. she lost her footing and fell 100 feet, landing on her back over a giant rock. when rescuers got to her she was breathing but unconscious. they air-lifted her to safety and rushed her to the hospital. she was on life support for a few days, and now (less than a week later) she is awake and alert and making jokes. it's the closest thing to a miracle i have ever seen. when i first heard the news, i was pretty devastated. we haven't seen eachother much in the last few years. but she was literally the girl next door when i was growing up. she was my first love, the girl who i discovered all of those boy/girl things with. she's the girl i thought i'd marry when i was 10. she's the girl i didn't end up with. she's my winnie cooper. and she will always be really important to me. i'm just so glad that it looks like she's going to make a complete recovery.
man, what a week.
