Istanbul is an amazing and HUGE city. Are there any Suicide Girls in Turkey? It is amazing to walk the streets and see the variety of people and cultures. Women dressed as any westerner, walking next to women scarved and covered. I've read threads on this site about shaved vs. hair, big vs. itty, implants vs. born with, plus what gets pierced and where. But this difference seems the most hardcore to me and my western american eyes. Not many Burkas about, as they have been outlawed from Turkey in the past.
The people i meet are warm and eager to connect besides the language difficulty. I am baffled by even basic Turkish. Slowly i am getting the names of my students in the workshop. Some fine dancers here.
This is my first taste of being around remnants of culture that extends to 500 AD and older. To be able to walk into a building that old is a bit mind blowing to me. Aya Sofia is no ruin. This could be the coolest building on the planet.
Yeah well i haven't seen that much of the earth yet.
