aaaand, I'm back.
Thursday night, got off the plane and headed for a bbq at Opie's place. He grilled up some amazing food for us, and we sat around a super nice firepit, ate, drank and hung out. It was a perfect start to the weekend.
Friday, YonderBoy and I woke up and and went to Swingers for some breakfast. You got to love a joint that serves the "early bird" special until 11am. Then we ran some other errands. Came back home and I took a nap. Then we went and ate at an Indian restaurant. Kinda spendy, and not the greatest of Indian food (though I might be ruined since I've had Little Dehli) but the awesome company we kept made up for it all. We came back home, and got ready to go to Das Bunker. I was little miss cranky pants, so it took a little bit to get into the mood (read idea) of going out. We eventually got there at around 12 and it turned out to be a pretty fun night. Hung out with some friends we don't get to see that often.
Saturday, woke up and went to have breakfast at a cute little place that I forget the name of. Had a nibble on some pumpcakes (pumpkin pancakes) filled with a cranberry filling. So good. From there we headed off to Melrose to see the I am 8 bit show. Lot's or really great art there. Then we headed over to the Festival of Meat, at a friend of Opies'. If I ate meat I'd probably of been in food heaven. Everything looked and sounded good, it even smelled good. But, I've not eaten mammal or fowl carcass in so long that I just can't do it. Amphibian however, I will and did eat the hell out of. Some Ahi was made for us, sushi grade, marinated in a sesame and jalapeno marinade. SOOOO GOOD. Served with a couple of skewers of grilled veggies and fruit. Yum. The party was a lot of fun. Very different, mixed crowd. Felt just like my family parties. I loved it. I didn't really love coming home with all of my clothes smelling like smoke, but I suppose that's the nature of a BBQ. We came home and hung out with some people that were over at our hosts place. Good times. I was told I was a Geek Boys wet dream, and I'm still trying to decide if that's a compliment or not. Hey, the geeks usually end up rich right? And at least they wont mind that I'm such a complete nerd-bot.
Sunday, we got up went and grabbed some donuts and hit the road up the 101. God damn it was a long drive. Pretty. But long. I don't thing I need to do that one again for a good long while. We stopped in Santa Barbara for lunch and to our luck they were having a car show on the main strip. So many cool cars. I was in heaven. I sat and drooled over a 63 convertible Impala for a bit. We even saw our dream dog, and after talking with his owner we found out that his mom is having another littler! We exchanged info, and hopefully Yonderboy and I will be the proud parents of an EngAm bulldog. We got home, watched the Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad. Took a shower and went to bed.
Very, Very nice weekend.
Oh, there was also lots of DS playing, sex, sparks and traffic in between everything.
Kisses
