Went for my daily bike ride today down by the bay. Beautiful day. I usually do 35km, but it was so nice today I did another three laps... so... 49km? I guess that's right. The way my legs are screaming at me, it feels right.

So there was a girl on the trail today. (Isn't there always?) I recognized her -- she must be a regular on that trail. We passed each-other seven or eight times. She was doing that thing that drives me crazy... coyly smiling. Gets me every time. She was really cute. Did I summon the courage to actually speak to her? No. Almost did, but then I lost my nerve.

Why must crushes go unrequited? It only leads to regret. Will I always regret not speaking to 'the girl on the bayfront trail?' Was she the one that got away?

pfft. Who knows? Hell -- what would I have said to her, had I actually spoken to her? "Hi, you don't know me from Adam, but I just thought I'd tell you how attractive you are." Yeah. Right. She'd run for the hills, laughing / screaming.

There could have been mace involved.

So, here you go, campers: a question for you all to ponder. Do you tell people you've never met (but maybe shared some flirty glances with) that they are attractive, and ask them if they'd go for icecream with you? Or do you keep mum?
