Holy fuck. That new Blyss set is over the top. The hottest thing I have seen here yet, and that is saying a lot.
Anyway...on to life...
Well the drummer we auditioned was awful. Perplexion for the day: how in the blue fuck does someone play drums with no sense of rhythm or timing? I hate to sound so cruel. He is a cool guy and under any other circumstance I would have no problem with him. I just could not be in a band with him.
Moving on, however, a let down flips over into a sudden high. The day after that audition debacle, we find ourselves in touch with not only a different drummer, but a bassist as well. In fact, they're brothers.
The pair have been Tunghook fans for some years now, not to mention they apparently know who I am from the last band I was in. They even spoke well of my efforts in that group. I have possibly met them before, but I do not remember them right away. I will know whem I meet them, hopefully within a week.
So it appears that the problem will soon be rectified.
In the meantime, I still have a handful of TH songs to learn, but most of them are relatively easy and will take little time.
I think a vacation may soon be warranted. While spreading myself too thin has become the norm, I could use some relief from the monotony, and from trying to rush here and there to squeeze the most out of each day, as I am wont to do.
There are two concerts coming up in the next week. Iced Earth/Children of Bodom/Evergrey is Monday in St. Louis, and King's X kicks off their new tour, Thursday in Springfield. If all goes well, I will be at both. In Flames is coming up in early May as well.
I love going to shows, but it is little in the way of relaxation. My idea of a vacation would be going some place that I enjoy being, and kicking back. Unfortunately, I always wind up with someone who wants to go to some tourist trap and rush around from place-to-place, trying to get to everything before it all closes. Seeing as how this is the way I spend my day anyway, one can see it does little for me.
Oh, and I missed supper tonight. Going a while without sleep is one thing. Going 20 hours without food is a very different thing.
