GOOD: Being a considerate neighbour and not doing your laundry late at night when the noise will bug your downstairs neighbour whose window is right above the laundry.

BAD: Being the sort of smug bastard who gloats about what a good neighbour they are for not doing etc.

GOOD: Actually getting home in time to put a load of washing through without breaching the first point.

BAD: Only having time to do one load of washing before the hour gets unfeasibly late, refer to first point again.

GOOD: Keeping a spare stash of laundry liquid upstairs in order to handwash a work shirt to get through tomorrow with.

BAD: Being cranky from spending the day hanging around airports and nursing a sunburn and really not feeling like handwashing.

GOOD: Finding that, completely by accident, a work (polo) shirt found its way into the load of pants that just went through the machine, solving the problem.

BAD: Considering the implications for one's life if this is really the sort of thing that can make an evening.

GOOD: Deciding there's no shame in being the sort of person who can take pleasure from small satisfactions.
