Why do we feel the need to place labels on others
Was it something instilled by our mothers
To judge and disrespect
Others we do not deem perfect
Perfect is in the eye of the beholder
Yet you give another the cold shoulder
Why do you think you are all high and mighty
As if you were Aphrodite
We label what we do not understand
Instead of giving a helping hand
We judge those different from us
And picture them on the short bus
It is sad that you never look beyond
In the possibility of forming a bond
You think with a small mind
And continue to live your life blind
Missing out on opportunities
To explore different communities
And a chance to enrich your life
But yet you still place them under the surgeons knife
And dissect them piece by piece
Will this insanity ever cease?
