Fairytale Romance


We grow up reading the fairytales of true love
And listening to all of the love songs about undying devotion
Dreaming of the day we will meet our one and only
Our true love, our soul mate
Having this perfect picture in our mind
that is near impossible to find.

I ask myself has this all been a lie
Is it to good to be true
Or do I just have bad judgment
When it comes to who I fall in love with

Why do I fall for people who are selfish
People who take things for granted
People who don't appreciate the little things

I know there are many people out there
In the same quest as I
Yet I feel alone in my search

With each passing failed relationship
The wearier I grow in my search
Yet I still have hope
Knowing there is someone out there
Who I was destined for and they for me

I await my true love
