I recently went to visit family that I haven't seen in almost 20 years! And my grandmother asked me the strangest question. "What is it about nature that you like?" That left me speechless. How do you answer that? I mean, how can you NOT love nature? I definitely feel different sometimes. Everyone seems to be so wrapped up in their own lives that they forget to look around! Look up! Notice how blue the sky is or how graceful that hawk flies through the air. Look around you! Is it spring? Aren't the leaves the brightest green you've ever seen? Is it Autumn? Vibrant purple, red, and yellow leaves. Take a deep breath, what do you smell? Is it about to rain? Can you smell the sunlight? Look down. Go barefoot. Connect with nature. We are not separate from it. We are human and therefore different but we are still animals and very much a part of our natural surroundings. Next time you get wrapped up in the woes and worries and thoughts of everyday life, look up and take a deep breath. CONNECT!

This is the perfect time of year, too; especially here. We get very humid in this part of VA, so often in the summer its entirely too hot to enjoy being outside. But it's in the 60s today. You can't beat that.
